City and country website analytics
Gumanalytics attaches available city and country context to new pageviews so regional traffic and individual session details are easier to interpret.
How location is determined
Direct requests use Cloudflare edge geolocation. The generated Next.js proxy forwards supported Cloudflare or Vercel country and city headers. Encoded city values are normalized before storage.
Where city data appears
- Session detail pages show city and country for linked visits.
- Linked visit histories retain the available city context for each session.
- Country remains available for region filtering and journey context.
Historical records
City capture applies to newly collected pageviews after the location field is available. Earlier records are not inferred or backfilled.
